Radishes, Who Knew?

Vincent, who picks up at Stanwix Street in downtown Pittsburgh, had some interesting factoids to share about Daikon radishes and also provided the recipe below. I appreciate any additional reasons to feel good about eating good food and love learning new and unique ways of preparation. Thanks so much for for sharing.

A quote from a web search: "A few drops of soy sauce and a tablespoon of grated daikon is a macrobiotic treatment for helping the body discharge old animal protein and fats."

He also had this say from his personal experience: "I thought you could pass this on from my experience traveling in Japan. Typically served with Kobe Beef for the reasons mentioned above along with a splash of fresh lemon juice. Serve at room temperature and freshly grated... I have even eaten in restaurants where the above pictured grater is on the table and you freshly prepare this concoction...Bon Apetit"
